Claim Jumper History

Claim Jumper is an American restaurant chain that boasts more than 40 locations spread across the United States. They are based in Houston, Texas and are fully owned by Landry’s Inc. This company was founded by Craig Nickoloff in 1977 and the original location was located in Los Alamitos, California. Claim Jumper is popular with a large audience consisting of families, children, the elderly and business professionals.

Their friendly dining environment is also ideal for hosting special occasions such as birthdays or other parties, as well as hosting business lunches. The original restaurant had a versatile menu and themed atmosphere inspired by the 1849 California Gold Rush. Today, there are approximately 43 locations found across the states of Nevada, Louisiana, Illinois, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, California and Tennessee.

In 2010, Claim Jumper was auctioned off after filing for bankruptcy in the United States. It was acquired by Landry’s Inc. one month later at a bid price of $76.6 million. The new owners relocated its headquarters from Irvine, California to Landry’s offices in the Houston area.

The restaurant’s doors are open daily for both lunch and dinner and they offer a variety of fresh dishes prepared using only the best ingredients available. Some of their all time favorites include fresh fish, rotisserie chicken, Angus Beef and piglet pork ribs among others. For those who prefer baked goods, the restaurant offers various specialty desserts such as the 6-Layer Choco Motherlode Cake and Scratch Carrot Cake. They also have delicious, rich cream cheese pies that are very popular with customers.

Additionally, Claim Jumper restaurants are a comfortable place to relax and unwind after a long day at work. You can meet there to catch a football game or share a delicious appetizer with some few friends.
