Cheddar’s Gluten-Free Menu 2024

Here is the complete Cheddar’s Gluten-Free menu.

Cheddar’s does not have a great gluten-free selection at their restaurant, and they don’t provide much information either. They have various entrees and sides that technically should be gluten-free, but there is no mention of a gluten-free menu on their website and there is no posted statement about their stance on cross-contamination and allergens.

We’ve heard that they do have a small printed gluten-free menu that they can provide which may be available at some locations, but there isn’t a great variety and we’d expect some cross contamination issues. If you end up here, be sure to inform your server if you have any food allergies or sensitivities, as they do have a few items that could be safe for you to eat.

Cheddar’s History

Cheddar’s is an American restaurant chain known for serving classic American foods like chicken, ribs, steak, salads and sandwiches among others. It was established in 1978 by President Doug Rogers and CEO Aubrey Good. They currently operate more than 60 locations throughout the United States.

Their first location was opened in Arlington, Texas. The restaurant’s concept is to offer high-quality local food in a casual dining atmosphere and at a reasonable price. Cheddar’s has created a niche for itself in the competitive fast food industry. From its first location formed in 1979, the chain expanded to reach more than 10 destinations by 1995.

By 2003, the restaurant had grown to include 42 restaurants spread across 13 states. They also partnered with Brazos Private Equity Partners who made plans to expand the company starting that same year. Three years later the firm had 55 locations spread across 15 states. Cheddar’s was jointly purchased by Catterton Partners and Oak Investment Partners that same year.

In August 2007, the company hired Kelly Baltes who previously worked with Darden Restaurants to act as its CEO. Today, they have more than 135 locations found in 23 states across the country. Cheddar’s has also received numerous awards throughout its existence. In 2012 they were ranked by Zagat as the nation’s top full-service restaurant. Other awards they have received include the Number 1 American Cuisine, Top Rated Food and Number 1 Décor and Facilities restaurant.

Furthermore, Consumer Reports ranked Cheddar’s #1 in the Pub Style & Grill Category in its restaurant surveys of 2009 and 2012. They also received top rank recognition in the WD Partners’ Consumer Picks for 2011, 2012 and 2013, with the judges basing their conclusion on the likelihood of getting return customers and current customers referring the business to others. In October 2014, Cheddar’s received a new CEO by the name of Ian Baines and a year later, they changed their name to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, reflecting the company’s ideals of food that is made-from-scratch.

Summary

Cheddar’s does not do a good job of providing any information on their gluten-free options, or their stance on allergens and cross-contamination in general. There is nothing to be found on their website, but technically a few items on their menu should be gluten-free if prepared properly. They need at least do a better job at providing information, and while they’re at it, maybe add some more gluten-free options as well.
