Chompie’s Restaurant, Deli, and Bakery Gluten-Free Menu 2024

Here is the complete Chompie’s Restaurant, Deli, and Bakery gluten-free menu.

Chompie’s does a great job at providing gluten-free alternatives to enjoy with their food, such as bagels, rolls, and even gluten-free waffle batter! There isn’t a huge selection of menu items, but there are some things here that most places wouldn’t even try to offer gluten-free versions of.

They do note that they can’t guarantee that no cross-contamination will occur, but if you aren’t allergic to gluten and just looking to avoid it in your diet, this could be a great place to try. We do recommend letting your server know of any specific dietary needs before you order just to make sure you know all the options available to you.

Chompie’s History

Chompie’s is an American specialty food restaurant chain with locations in Glendale, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe and Chandler, Arizona. The restaurant was founded in New York City in 1979 by Lou, Mark, Lovey, Wendy and Neal, also known as the Borensteins. Their dream materialized into a reality when they opened their first store serving freshly baked New York style breads, pastries and cakes. It operated as both a deli restaurant and a bakery at the same time.

According to Lovey, their intention was to come up with high quality bagels in the Phoenix area since nobody seemed to be baking them fresh at the time. Today, there are multiple Chompie’s Deli, Bagel Factory, Restaurant and Catering locations in Phoenix where they serve fresh bagels every day.

The company has set a new standard in dining by providing customers with the ultimate experience in an east coast food tradition. They have also received multiple awards throughout their years in business, including Best Deli, Best Sandwich Spot, Best YouTube Campaign, Best Matzah Ball Soup and Best Bakery among others. Moreover, in 2014, Lovey Borenstein was proudly honored as one of the “Women Who Move the Valley” of Arizona Foothills. Other awards that the restaurant has won include the 2014 Best Jewish Deli and Bakery Award, Phoenix New-Times Best of Phoenix and Readers’ Choice awards.

To celebrate 34 years in business, Chompie’s recently offered customers an all you can eat buttermilk pancake offer at a discounted rate of $3.34. This was the first time in history that the restaurant provided such an offer to their customers. Their traditional buttermilk pancakes are prepared fresh from scratch using a special Borenstein family recipe which dates back many generations. Most customers have dubbed the restaurant’s pancakes “As big as my face!” They are not only fresh and tasty but affordable as well.

Summary

Chompie’s could be a good place to try if you’re looking for some gluten-free food. They provide gluten-free rolls, bagels, and even waffle batter! They also use their gluten-free rolls and bagels on a lot of their sandwiches and some breakfast items. They may not have a huge gluten-free menu, but there is a great variety of items that many places would not try and make gluten-free so it may be worth giving Chompie’s a shot.
